Rainy Day is a Season 1 episode in The Mr. Men Show.

Synopsis[]

It's a rainy day in Dillydale, and the bad weather is putting some of the Mr. Men and Little Misses in a bad mood. A leaky roof gets the better of Mr. Per(s)nickety and his wool sofa and Mr. Nervous' daydream leaves him drenched - yet the storm can't dissuade Mr. Stubborn from picnicing with Mr. Bump.

Plots[]

  • Mr. Bump and Mr. Stubborn's Plot: Mr. Stubborn wants Mr. Bump to go on a picnic in the park, but Mr. Bump tells Mr. Stubborn that he cancelled the picnic because it was raining. Of course, Mr. Stubborn kept saying it wasn't raining.
  • Mr. Nervous's Plot: Mr. Nervous imagines he's sent into an ark but is really trying to catch Mr. Rude's bus.
  • Mr. Lazy's Plot (US version only): Mr. Lazy is too lazy to clean his teeth. So he decides to use his toothbrush machine that runs on water.
  • Mr. Scatterbrain's Plot: Mr. Scatterbrain buys an umbrella from Miss Helpful, but gets blown in a sewer pipe that took him to the beach.
  • Musical number: "Rain On Down" by Little Miss Calamity (Little Miss Helpful in the dub).
  • Mr. Fussy and Mr. Strong's Plot: Mr. Strong tries to fix Mr. Fussy's leaking roof before it ruins Mr. Fussy's wool sofa.

Bumpers[]

Mr. Quiet is waiting to cross the street with his umbrella on a rainy day.

  1. He has trouble with his umbrella which folds out very far, then fills up with rainwater and unfolds, dumping the water onto him!
  2. Mr. Quiet gets trapped in the umbrella.
  3. The wind blows off the umbrella's cover, with the umbrella rotating like a helicopter blade (Only in the US version).
  4. Mr. Quiet meets a duck with a Mr. Quiet-patterned umbrella.

Dub edits[]

  • Mr. Stubborn refers to Go Fish by its British name, Happy Families.
  • Mr. Stubborn says "There it is! I win!", a line that was never present in the original.
  • "Rain On Down" is sung by Miss Helpful rather that Miss Calamity,

Goofs[]

  • When Mr. Strong breaks part of the roof, he sees Mr. Fussy who is on the first floor. Mr. Fussy's house has two floors and maybe a basement and an attic. (Mr. Messy has a basement shown in Washing and Drying and an attic shown in Pests.)
